They couldn't believe I did it
That I could be so stupid
To ever fall in love with you
They asked me why I did it
I told them I was committed
What else was I suppose to do?
We exchanged our vows
Prepped our bodies as we fall
Further and deeper in love
Now that I'm a little older
And slightly more wiser
I finally know what you're up to
Why should I care?
Heaven only knows
'Bout all the stupid shit you get yourself into
Why should I care
If you're sad and lost?
Take this as a sign that we're through
Ciao for now
What do you mean how
Am I able to say goodbye?
I don't want you in my life
No more
Now watch me as I leave
I sent you to Las Vegas
With a pocket full of cash
And no restrictions on you
I thought what could happen to us
But it just seemed that Vegas
Only showed me what you can do (When I'm not around)
You promised me
That we would live happily
And that you would remain true
Now I finally see
How you really are
And I'm disgusted with you
Why should I care?
Heaven only knows
'Bout all the stupid shit you get yourself into
Why should I care
If you're sad and lost?
Take this as a sign that we're through
Ciao for now
What do you mean how
Am I able to say goodbye?
I don't want you in my life
No more
Now watch me as I leave
I love this poem. It's emotional, it's raw and above all it's real. I can certainly see you aiming this at your ex-boyfriends.
ReplyDeleteI remember these lyrics too. Guessing by the recent posts you've found your old lyrics book. I highly suggest you post Romance Is Overrated. :-)
